Do we trust Elon Musk?

I’ll admit the guy has vision. He had the idea that became PayPal, which is a lot better than Zelle or any of its competitors (Zelle has become a scammer’s go-to money-transfer site). Tesla and Space-X came along and proved his vision in spades. Unlike the other two rich boys with their expensive rocket toys, the latter is making a solid contribution to space exploration: It has created a viable and reliable substitute for the US space shuttle and makes the Russian space program seem like 1960s tech.

The Russian space program’s director has made lots of threats recently, maybe out of frustration? Russia can’t even produce a good toilet without copying western designs, so his threats are toothless ones, a bit of posturing to continue to win the favor of rabid-dog Putin. (And the latter’s war against Ukraine is failing, not just because the troops are less than enthusiastic about Putin’s mad war but because Russian uses 1940s Nazi tactics!)

But I digress from Mr. Musk. What will he do with Twitter? Hopefully not ruin it! The old Twitterverse lords learned to control slander, bigotry, and hate speech a bit. Elon might want to encourage it instead in the name of free speech to further his own political agendas. Does Elon want to return to those good old days when that “f&^%ing moron” was blasting out hundreds of lying tweets per day?

C’mon man! Kicking fascists off Twitter is positive and akin to flushing them down that good old American toilet the Russian fascists can’t build! Leaving them on Twitter only gives fascism a forum so they can pander to and incite their fellow far-right marching morons.

Of course, old Elon might be one of these fascists. I suspect those other two rich boys with their expensive rocket toys are rabid right-wingers too—many American CEOs are, so why not Elon? He might be a lot brainier than that “f&^%ing moron” who encouraged people to drink disinfectant to combat the Covid infection, but some fascists do have brains—their narcissistic and psychopathic behavior only means that their brain power is used in an evil manner.

No, we shouldn’t provide fascists with a bully pulpit like Facebook, Instagram, Tik-Tok, or Twitter. We allowed that “f&^%ing moron” to do that and look what happened! We were extremely lucky to avoid a disaster for our democracy. Let’s not encourage that again! Tell Elon Musk about your worries. I’m doing just that. (His Twitter handle is @ElonMusk.)
