I find it amusing that the words “fascist” and “fascism” are now frequently being used; i.e., people are taking the gloves off and labelling these extreme people correctly. General Mark Milley, Donald Jackass Trump’s Joint Chiefs chairman: “Trump is fascist to the core.” (That’s from Bob Woodward’s new book War, which is excellent!) General John Kelly, the Jackass’s ex-DHS Secretary and ex-Chief of Staff: “Trump’s a fascist.” Barr, Bolton, and others close to Trump in his first administration have finally come forward and echoed similar sentiments.
Of course, Trump’s a fascist! I’ve been saying that at least since 2015 when he came down that golden stairway in Trump Tower. Any sane person knows he’s a fascist. Why are people so afraid to say the truth? Of course, assholes like Johnson and McConnell and the Gaetz-Greene mob call Dems fascists in their tit-for-tat name-calling, but they’re all liars just like their wannabe fuehrer.
Can it be that people have forgotten what a fascist is? Henry Wallace, Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s VP before Truman, gave a general definition probably motivated by events in Europe (old fascists like Hitler, Mussolini, and Franco): “A fascist is one whose lust for money or power is combined with such an intensity of intolerance toward those of other races, parties, classes, religions, cultures, regions or nations as to make him ruthless in his use of deceit or violence to attain his ends.” That describes those famous historical fascists. It also describes Donald Jackass Trump who admires them so much!
But why did it take two US generals to finally have the courage to use these words? (Steve Moore doesn’t count, after all; he’s just an old and barely known author, a lone voice crying in the wilderness that most people ignore, so someone better known than me must have the courage to step up and define Trump for what he is.) First, those two men worked mightily in Trump’s first administration trying to control their boss’s fascist nature; they obviously failed. Second, they’ve spent most of their professional lives fighting fascists on the left and the right, they know them well, and they couldn’t believe that a fascist had taken residence in the White House. (I couldn’t either. It makes you lose respect for anyone who didn’t see Narcissus le Grand for what he really is and has ever voted for him. Is there lead in the water they drink?)
Too many people don’t understand what fascism means. Look at Wallace’s definition again. Nowhere does he mention ideology. The political spectrum isn’t linear. It’s mostly ideological, but it curves around at both extremes, far-left and far-right, to join at a point called fascism! No ideology can exist there! That’s exactly what Wallace was saying. And this is the point where psychotic sociopaths like Donald Jackass Trump end up. Maduro and Modi are fascists; so are Kim, Putin, and Xi. Fascism chows down on all ideologies and spits them out as putrid, stinking bile. AOC and Marjorie Taylor Greene like to claim they’re ideologues, but they’re fascists. AOC has given progressives a bad name; she’s a fascist. Ms. Greene has given conservatives a bad name; she’s a fascist. There are many in the US Congress, in the House more than in the Senate, but only because gerrymandering works better in smaller voting districts. (The Senate’s members have to please the majority of an entire state’s voters, not just some fascist district.)
Third, while many true conservatives, ones like Cheney, Kinzinger, Romney, and a few others from current and previous congresses and administrations, don’t use the terms “fascist” and “fascism,” they know in their hearts that’s what Trump is. They at least have the courage to speak out about the danger that psychotic sociopath represents to our democracy even though they don’t use those exact words. They know in their hearts that these words describe Trump and the fanatical MAGA movement perfectly.
This is also true in the business world where stupid Trump believes everyone there supports him. (He’s always been a bit player there, and this incompetent businessman’s many bankruptcies show he’s a complete loser in the business world. Daddy Trump gave him start…but probably didn’t live long enough to regret it.) For example and as reported in the NY Times (I don’t move in those high circles), Jamie Dimon, CEO of JP Morgan-Chase, can’t support Trump the Chump, but his courage is lacking: He’s afraid of backlash if Trump wins in 2024 and then seeks retribution against all the “enemies within” whose only sin is that they didn’t support him, so old rich Jamie hides his opinions. While these cowardly lions of the business world have proven they’re pathetic human beings, their fears of retribution are understandable: Look at that definition of fascist again: “…ruthless in his use of deceit or violence to attain his ends.”
This last part of the definition of “fascist” undoubtedly was the final straw for Generals Kelly and Milley. With over two centuries of US history where the military swears an oath to the Constitution, takes orders from civilian authority, and has never been used against US citizens, Trump’s threat to do the latter crossed a red line. This wannabe dictator has already claimed that he’s smarter than all the generals (for example, at the same Pentagon meeting where ex-SecState Tillerson had to explain to the generals that Trump is a “f&^%ing moron”). If the jackass gets a second term, we’ll probably see him appearing at state functions in uniform with fake medals like Maduro. He’ll also probably insist on a July 4 parade down Pennsylvania Avenue so he can salute his goose-stepping troops.
Yes, I feel vindicated that some people are finally labelling Trump correctly as a fascist and the MAGA movement as fascism. I emphasize “finally.” Why the hell has it taken people so damn long to wise up? Waiting until now could very well mean it’s too late to save our country!
That’s your scary tale for this Halloween! Most likely the scariest! Don’t let it be too late!
