[Note from Steve: I’m posting this article on Saturday in lieu of the usual Thursday posting next week to allow my readers to have a few more doses of politics they probably don’t need.]
First, the social experiments: While the US is still mostly experimenting with fascism from the “fucking moron” all the way down in the MAGA pecking order (and any traditional US conservative is thinking about running for his life to Canada or Europe unless she or he is “the last Republican” like Kinzinger), anyone who’s paying attention at all can see that the leader in the NYC mayor’s race is Zohran Mamdani, a Democratic Socialist and not a communist as Trump the Chump would like people to believe. (Democratic socialism has a good track record in Europe, so why not try it in the capital of the world?) That particular social experiment is bound to butt heads with fascism, as well as against conventional liberalism across the country, so hold on tight to your family and friends as these trains head for a collison: We might be fighting another civil war sooner than later!
Now for the predictions: Zohran will win in NYC. I agree with conservative pundit George Will (what a miracle, right?): No one else has been able to tame NYC (Bloomberg came the closest), so let democratic socialists (AOC and Bernie are better known ones) try there and around the country where they’re running for election. If anything, that will give US fascists apoplexy, so maybe they’ll all have heart attacks or strokes! I’d like to give the democratic socialists a chance because they make more sense than the fascists, who make no sense at all.
What about those governors’ races? NJ’s fascist candidate Shitarelli actually has a chance to beat Sherill the Dem even though he gives the jackass an “A” rating in a very telling ad. (Politicians should always be careful about what they say in front of a live mic. Both Sherill and Shitarelli have put their feet in their mouths several times. Are you reading this, Zohran? You’re the ass who still says he believes NYPD police officers can be replaced by social workers!) I predict there’s a very good chance that NJ’s governor’s office will soon be occupied by a fascist, but let’s call that governors’ race a toss-up. VA’s governors’ election seems to a bit more likely a win for the Dems.
Perhaps the real critical races in the country are those that will affect the US Congress even before the midterms. For example, unless the FPA’s obvious (the “Fascist Party of America,” what remains of the Republican Party) nationwide leads in the anti-American voter gerrymandering race (anti-American because all gerrymandering is designed to allow candidates to choose their constituents and not the opposite), the results of that cheaters’ scheme could soon give fascist Tweedle Dee Johnson more of a House majority. While fascist Tweedle Dumb Thune already has a majority, it’s not enough to reach the anti-filibuster limit of sixty votes, especially since that Dem traitor Fetterman is not up for re-election; but Thune might be surprised as well. (Gerrymandering doesn’t affect Senate races, fortunately.)
I suppose all these important elections will soon be appearing on online gamblers’ betting apps, but in democratic politics there are no guarantees. That always requires a fascist country, and so my last prediction really hurts: We just might be living in a fascist country before our wannabe Il Dulce leaves office. In that case, civil war is the only recourse left us!
