We all watch the scenes showing the atrocities Putin has committed with his evil war and grimace. Of course, this monster doesn’t care what any sane person thinks—he’s a monster and a war criminal. But the Russian people will eventually care.
Having lived through the Vietnam era, I know that neither the internet nor even an uncensored media were needed to tell people about the horrors of that war. Of course, the internet didn’t exist, and the media was often lied to and even sometimes misled the people back then. Parents, relatives, and friends of the wounded and the dead received the bad news about their loved ones. That turned the population against American leaders. Unlike WWI, WWII, and Korea, the Vietnam War was an unpopular one, and it was unpopular because the wounded and the dead provides a strong message everyday that the war continued.
That’s what will happen in Russia. Putin will be cursed by the parents, relatives, and friends of those wounded and dead Russian soldiers! Everyday they see the wounded and body bags returning, or soldiers never returning to their loved ones, works against the mad dog of Moscow. The little ex-KGB clerk’s days are numbered. There’s no more powerful antiwar message than the one sent from the wounded and the dead, those losses caused by a narcissistic psychopath following his dream to create a new USSR and rule over it. I doubt Putin will be able to survive.
But let’s say he does. He’ll then be in charge of a country with a crippled country and the leader of a people who hates him. And who knows how those wrathful parents, relatives, and friends of the Russian wounded and dead will rise up against him. He’d better put on his running shoes. Hmm. He probably can’t buy them any longer in Russia!
Slava Ukrayny!
