How the US Congress should work!

The fascists (on both the left and right!) in the US Congress have created so much chaos that a lot of people were surprised about what occurred a week ago last Saturday: Aid for Israel, Taiwan, and Ukraine was passed by the US House and sent to the Senate. This might be considered miraculous by some people (those who care more about the future of the US and the world than the NBA and NHL finals), but it’s how the US Congress should work: Logical and reasoned debate (excluding how Green and her gang pushed Speaker Johnson against one of those hallowed walls and threatened him!) followed by decisions made by a large bipartisan number of representatives (excluding Green and her rowdy accomplices, of course).

True, Mike Johnson wouldn’t have been in that pickle if the Good Ole Piranhas would have had done this long ago as they should have, and they would have had their legislation to help fix border problems as well if they hadn’t bowed before their fascist fuehrer Donald J. Trump. But Johnson finally caved because he would have gone down in history as the fascist arse who’d allowed Putin to destroy Ukraine’s democracy and try to overrun Europe, causing World War Three and perhaps a nuclear holocaust.

Those few Piranhas who couldn’t understand that (and apparently a lot of MAGA maniacs if you believe the Green MAGA-machine!) are still complaining, and Putin-loving Marjorie is still blathering and bloating about making Johnson pay for not allowing her to stampede him. “I’ll let my colleagues [read, “a few partners in crime”] go home to see what their constituents think,” she said (or something stupid like that). She knew she didn’t have the votes to vacate the speakership and couldn’t admit it! She was desperately trying to save face. (Or maybe I’m incorrectly assuming she’s a bit more intelligent than she acts?)

Back to the main point: The public expects their congress people to legislate instead of doing nothing! That’s why they pay for these pontificating prats to go to DC after all. A do-nothing Congress doesn’t tend to the people’s business. It’s too bad the firing process is so damn slow. We’re stuck with moronic reps for two years and moronic senators for six (I hope we get rid of a lot of deadwood in 2024—there’s plenty on both sides, and we should throw the bums and bumettes out on their fat, lazy arses!), but I think Mike Johnson might be safe until November, 2024 at least. The Dems are stupid enough to believe that snake-oil salesman is reformed. Sure, give him a reprieve, but hold the reins tight and ration the oats in his feedbag! (Adding a few worms for protein while they’re at it.) One should never ever trust a fascist! Dems can work with this speaker but shouldn’t trust him until he delivers.

The conclusion to draw from these recent events is that Congress should not be a House or Senate controlled by one party; it should be the people’s House and Senate. What’s been happening is an anomaly that would have had previous generations worrying about the future of our country. You haven’t been? Well, that’s plainly naive on your part because the US is in a terribly dangerous spot right now. If you can’t see that danger from the far right and left, you’re definitely part of the problem! What happened last Saturday should be the norm, not the exception.
